Abri’s planning application to redevelop Sawyers Close will be decided by the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) at a meeting on Thursday 7th December 2023 at 7pm.
We are pleased that RBWM’s officers are recommending our proposals for approval. However, the decision as to whether to approve the plans will be taken on the night by councillors on the Windsor & Ascot Development Management Committee.
If you would like to, you can attend the meeting in person to listen to the discussion. You can also view the proceedings remotely on YouTube. The committee meets at York House, 53 Sheet Street, Windsor, SL4 1BY and our application is first on the agenda.
The application has the reference number 23/01090/FULL. It can be viewed on RBWM’s website: https://www.rbwm.gov.uk/home/planning/find-planning-application
The proposed redevelopment would involve the demolition of the 192 homes in the four existing buildings and their replacement with 413 new homes including houses and apartments.
The redevelopment also includes a purpose-built community space, cycle hub, new children’s play equipment, comprehensive biodiverse landscaping, and a new access to the site from Smiths Lane.
All the new homes will be affordable, either through reprovision of existing social rented homes, affordable rent or shared ownership. A new home will be provided at Sawyers Close for every household currently living there, while the additional homes will be for those who are in housing need locally.
